Author Bernard De Koven of "Deep Fun", a website devoted to new sports or sports that aren't well known, writes,"You won’t really understand why anything called a Tugball and looking like this:
can lead to such athletic grace, almost primal glee, and such deeply challenging play until you see it in action. That’s something that goes deep into who we are, that strength-testing battle for possession, followed by a furious run to the goal, a semi-desperate attempt to gain distance from the opposing team, a whirling toss to a teammate in the conceptual clear. The designers and purveyors of Tugball have set the majority of their sights on providing alternatives for the physical education environment. The rules governing Tugball include an element of flag football so as to reduce the possibility of violent contact between players, and to keep the interaction safely within the boundaries of play. They’ve also created several other games that make good use of the physical properties of a ball you can tug and toss.
